Sam Mersten | Events Manager
Sam joined the Out & Equal team in January 2016 after graduating from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies and a minor in Political Science. Prior to Out & Equal, Sam interned at the Pride Center of Vermont as a Marketing and Outreach/Events Coordinator. While at the Pride Center of Vermont Sam responded to community needs and implemented effective processes which included coordinating events that celebrated, educated and advocated for diversity. Sam has a strong passion for LGBTQ activism and intersectional feminism, committed to securing equity on both an individual and systemic level. Born and raised in Queens, NY Sam currently resides in Oakland where she spends a lot of her free time exploring the Bay, watching netflix and searching for a slice of pizza and a bagel that remind her of home.
