In many countries around the globe, young professionals are the ones spearheading initiatives to counter workplace discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. To support these professionals, Out & Equal is now offering the Young Global Leaders Scholarship for two select applicants to attend the Out & Equal Executive Forum in San Francisco, March 28th-30th, 2018, by waiving the registration fee for recipients.* This scholarship is meant to aid those international young professionals who would otherwise be unable to attend Executive Forum, to push them to the next stages of their careers. Recipients will be enrolled in the Forum’s “Young Professional Class,” which consists of workshops and panels to provide attendees with professional development and training, as well as insights into the global landscape of LGBT workplace equality. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following three requirements:
- Identify as LGBT
- Be in the first fifteen years of their career
- Live and work in a country other than the United States (Preference will be given to applicants in Out & Equal priority countries: China, India, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Women-identifying applicants are also especially encouraged to apply.)
Applications for the 2018 Young Global Leaders Scholarship are now closed. Applicants will be notified on the status of their application by February 14th. Applications will be judged by an internal committee at Out & Equal based on the strength of their previous initiatives, plans to utilize the knowledge gained at Executive Forum in the future, and need for assistance.
