Shin Inouye

Shin Inouye is the Director of Communications and Rapid Response at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and The Leadership Conference Education Fund.  In that capacity, he is responsible for directing and implementing the organizations’ communications strategy. He serves as point on the development of institutional communications campaigns, including large scale coalition-wide public advocacy campaigns.  The Leadership Conference is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most diverse civil and human rights coalition, and The Education Fund is the research and education arm of the coalition.

Prior to that, Inouye served for eight years as an appointee in the Administration of President Barack Obama.  From October 2014 to January 2017, he was the Press Secretary and Acting Senior Advisor for Intergovernmental and External Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  At USCIS, Inouye advised the Director and Chief of Staff on issues relating to intergovernmental and external affairs; coordinating internally and externally with stakeholders and organizations.
