Joshua Johnson

Joshua Johnson is an anchor on MSNBC. 

Johnson joined MSNBC in November 2019. Prior to joining the network, Johnson served as host of 1A, a show inspired by the 1st Amendment, produced by WAMU and distributed by NPR where he brought new insights and inquiry to pressing issues.

Born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL, Johnson began his public radio career helping launch a unique regional news partnership between Miami’s NPR station, WLRN, and The Miami Herald. He served for more than five years as morning news host for KQED in San Francisco. He also co-created and hosted the provocative nationwide public radio series, Truth Be Told, which explored race in America. 

Joshua taught podcasting at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
