Arne Sorenson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, Inc. Arne presides over one of the world’s largest and most well-known hospitality companies and numerous associated travel brands. Under his leadership, Marriott continues to make major strides for LGBTQ equality around the world, even in countries where being LGBTQ is still criminalized. In 2014, Sorenson helped drive the “Love Travels” ad campaign – a revolutionary campaign in the hospitality industry to not only attract more LGBTQ travelers, but to show LGBTQ people they are welcome, safe, and belong. Marriott continues to lead the way for LGBTQ diversity and inclusion with perfect scores on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index, top rankings for DiversityInc’s Index, and in 2020 named as one of Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies.” Amid the ongoing fight for racial justice, Sorenson recently spoke out to honor the life of Georgie Floyd and against systemic racism in America. Sorenson understands that LGBTQ inclusion must start within his company and with his employees.
