  1. New guidance from the US Department of Justice (DOJ) has outlined actions and programs that the DOJ considers unlawful discrimination under Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Employers should assess initiatives and programming and monitor developments. Guidance is not legally binding.
  2. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will resume reviewing discrimination complaints from transgender workers, but only those related to hiring, firing, and promotions, and with a high level of scrutiny.
  3. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) plans to overhaul the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which could jeopardize fully covered access to services like PrEP and cancer screenings. This might lead to higher costs and more uncertainty for employers, insurers, and healthcare providers.
