A highpoint of Out & Equal’s Summit last year was the world’s largest snowball fight. Thousands of out and ally professionals wrote down an aspect of their identity they had been “covering” at work. These scraps of paper were turned into snowballs and thrown all over the ballroom.
The anonymous notes were then collected and discussed. We all learned important lessons about what was being covered. And some of what we saw was very real.
The insights we draw from moments like these are invaluable, which is why mass participation will be returning to Summit in 2019.
