This webinar will focus on transgender inclusion in the Indian workplace, featuring three influential and unique perspectives: Anubhuti Banerjee, a transgender employee and LGBT+ Employee Resource Group leader at Tata Steel; Joy Dettorre, IBM’s Global Diversity Leader and driving force behind their groundbreaking transgender inclusion policies; and Shubha Chacko, the Executive Director of Solidarity Foundation and a key proponent of their trailblazing program to aid transgender people in entering the workforce.

- Shubha Chacko, Executive Director, Solidarity Foundation
Shubha Chacko is the Executive Director of Solidarity Foundation – a Bangalore based NGO. Solidarity Foundation make resources available and support leaders and grassroots organizations of sex workers and sexual minorities (LGBTIQ+). We also support the corporate sector on their journey of LGBTIQ+ inclusion, and facilitate employment opportunities for people from transgender communities. Shubha’s work experience over the last thirty years has been varied – but within the realm of development, human rights, and social justice. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
- Anubhuti Banerjee, Manager Analytics & Insights (Marketing & Sales), Tata Steel Limited
Anubhuti holds a degree in engineering from a premier technical institute and is a former DAAD (German Academic Exchange) scholar. She came out as a trans woman in 2015 and co-leads her company’s LGBT+ Employee Resource Group, Wings, and was part of Mingle India’s young LGBT+ leaders for 2017. She was chosen as a Reverse Mentor to CxOs in Digital Technology and is part of the Digital Strategy workforce of her organization. Her journey has been two-fold: The internal journey of discovery and rediscovery of her identity and the external journey of what it means to be a self-made woman today in society and the corporate world.
- Joy Dettorre, Global Diversity Leader, IBM
Joy Dettorre is a Human Resources professional with more than 15 years of deep experience in the technology industry and IBM line of business. She is currently a global diversity leader responsible for creating, driving and implementing innovative solutions which scale globally and create business impact. She is recognized as the catalyst behind IBM’s 8-bar rainbow logo. In the past 12 months Joy has assisted in the deployment of Trans inclusive benefits in India, the UK, Brazil and most recently in the Philippines. Joy has extensive experience as an HR Business Partner where she provided HR Generalist support for various World Wide Business Units.
