About this course:

While transgender individuals have more visibility than ever before, this visibility has not consistently translated into understanding and inclusion for the population. Allies – and, importantly, potential allies – need space to set aside the noise, get the facts, and learn what their role is in transgender inclusion at work.
This session will set learners up for this allyship journey by exploring key terminology around gender identity, explore what is happening in the workplace and beyond with trans and nonbinary people, define specific ways we can show up as allies, and provide a chance to put learning into practice by applying it to real-world scenarios.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Distinguish between gender identity, gender expression, and assigned sex at birth;
  • Understand the workplace landscape for trans and nonbinary people today;
  • Articulate a need and business case for transgender inclusion in the workplace; and
  • Identify ways to practice everyday allyship for transgender colleagues

You will complete individual lessons comprised of videos including slides with informative datapoints, accompanied by an Out & Equal Learning facilitator’s talking points. Interspersed throughout you will encounter learning touchpoints, and take a brief quiz at the end to apply your knowledge.
