About this On Demand course:

Language is a powerful tool; it helps us understand others’ experiences and identity, communicate our own, share our stories, and connect deeply with those around us.
This session will cover terminology currently used today by and about the LGBTQ+ community. We’ll spend time exploring the definitions of terms as well as examining inclusive language to use in the workplace. We’ll review hot-off-the-press data and resources on the workplace experiences of LGBTQ+ colleagues today. You will end the session with specific and concrete ways to practice in-the-moment, everyday allyship.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize the relationships and differences between sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression;
  • Articulate why LGBTQ+ inclusion is integral to your company’s success;
  • Understand your own potential for impact; and
  • Develop and practice the tools to intervene in critical, everyday moments.

How to navigate this course:

You will complete individual lessons comprised of videos including slides with informative datapoints, accompanied by an Out & Equal Learning facilitator’s talking points. Interspersed throughout you will encounter learning touchpoints, and take a brief quiz at the end to apply your knowledge.

You can revisit this course at any time. We hope you enjoy.
