Overview
This session explores how organizations can advance LGBTQ+ inclusion in regions where legal protections are limited, with a focus on navigating complex cultural and regulatory environments across APAC. Grounded in NYU Professor Kenji Yoshino’s models of corporate engagement, the discussion centers on the embassy model, where multinational companies create safe, inclusive workplaces while respecting local context.
Drawing on insights from the 2025 Out & Equal Workplace Summit, the session features real-world case studies of organizations adapting global LGBTQ+ policies at the local level. Speakers share practical strategies for implementing inclusive nondiscrimination policies, equitable benefits and family leave, and meaningful employee engagement. The session offers actionable guidance for balancing global values with local realities and for building workplaces that serve as inclusive “embassies” for LGBTQ+ employees worldwide.
