This toolkit offers a practical roadmap for advancing gender equality and cultivating a culture of belonging in the workplace. It addresses intersectional identities and provides actionable guidance for women, allies, and organizations to challenge bias, support equity, and close structural gaps.

The resource explores topics such as privilege, intersectionality, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence, while encouraging collaborative storytelling, equitable pay practices, and advocacy for systemic change. Together, these tools support more inclusive workplaces where all employees can grow, contribute, and lead.

  • Check Privilege and Embrace Intersectionality: Recognize how intersecting identities, such as race, class, and gender, shape privilege and discrimination, and leverage privilege strategically to empower marginalized voices.
  • Listen, Learn, and Collaborate: Engage with diverse perspectives by listening to the lived experiences of others and collaborating inclusively without speaking over or for marginalized groups.
  • Create Space and Respect Boundaries: Share the stage to amplify diverse voices. Avoid occupying space that belongs to those with lived experiences, ensuring their stories are centered.
  • Promote Inclusive Language and Behavior: Eliminate exclusionary or offensive language, accept feedback gracefully, and encourage evolving language practices to better reflect diverse realities.
  • Self-Awareness and Emotional Intelligence: Build self-awareness and emotional regulation to reduce harmful habits and foster empathy for others. This includes reflecting on reactions, seeking feedback, and engaging in self-improvement.
  • Support Equitable Pay and Opportunities: Advocate for salary parity and ensure diverse candidates and interviewers are included in hiring and promotion decisions to combat systemic inequalities.
  • Empowerment Through Action: Allocate resources to support the most marginalized, fight against workplace interruptions, and ensure equitable participation in decision-making processes.
