Adapting Global Best Practices in LGBTQ+ Workplace Policies in Latin America

This session focuses on how companies can successfully adapt and implement global best practices for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion across Latin America. We will explore how organizations can effectively roll out comprehensive inclusion policies that explicitly address sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in contexts with limited legal protections or cultural acceptance.

Speakers will share real examples and actionable insights on developing LGBTQ+-inclusive benefits, family leave policies, and gender transition guidelines, as well as strategies to navigate challenges unique to Latin American workplaces. The session aims to highlight how inclusion can thrive even in less inclusive environments, driving both employee well-being and organizational resilience.

  • Identify key global best practices for LGBTQ+ inclusion that can be adapted to the Latin American context.
  • Understand how to design and implement policies that explicitly address sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in varying legal and cultural environments.
  • Develop inclusive benefit structures—such as family leave, healthcare, and transition support—that meet global standards while respecting local realities.
  • Apply strategies for building internal advocacy and executive support to sustain LGBTQ+ inclusion initiatives in challenging contexts.
  • Recognize the value of regional collaboration and allyship in driving corporate inclusion across borders.
