Emmy Award-winning entertainer joins Summit speaker lineup

Famed entertainer Leslie Jordan—known for his roles in "Sordid Lives" and "Will & Grace"—is the latest to join the lineup at the 2009 Out & Equal Workplace Summit, the world's premier conference on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workplace equality.

With hundreds of television shows, films, and commercials to his credit, Jordan has become a familiar face on the entertainment scene. Audiences will recognize him from his performance as Brother Boy in Del Shores' play and subsequent film and television adaptations of “Sordid Lives.”

Jordan has enjoyed success on "Will & Grace," where his portrayal of Beverley Leslie lead to his 2006 Emmy Award win. Television audiences will also remember him for his recurring roles on “Privileged,” “Ugly Betty,” “Boston Legal” and “Reba.”

He joins an impressive list of Summit speakers that includes Sharon L. Allen, chair of Deloitte's board, John Berry, the highest-ranking LGBT official in President Barack Obama's administration, Kevin Brockman, executive vice president of global communications for Disney-ABC, and Kenji Yoshino, author of "Covering: The Hidden Assault of Our Civil Rights."

Out & Equal's People of Color Advisory Committee will host a casual networking reception that celebrates cultural differences. Open to all registered Summit participants. Light appetizers will be served.

Regional affiliate reception

Don't miss the networking reception organized by leaders of Out & Equal's 17 regional affiliates and hosted by Out & Equal Tampa Bay. Regional affiliates produce educational and networking programs throughout the year. This reception is designed to engage you in the work affiliate members are doing in your area. Open to all registered Summit participants.

Movement leaders from organizations on the United ENDA Steering Committee will discuss the status of the fully inclusive federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act and other key LGBT legislative initiatives. Bring your own brown bag lunch.
