Ben Demers is currently one of our interns, working primarily with Global Initiatives and O&E University. In June of 2017, he graduated with a degree in Cultural Studies and Geography from McGill University in Montreal, where he also worked as an executive member of a support and referral hotline and the university’s sexual assault center. Ben is passionate about queer activism, especially at its intersections with housing activism and the fight for urban space, and hopes to one day work in urban planning and research to help document social inequalities. He is also a Gemini on the Cancer cusp and listens near exclusively to dream pop. Originally from Massachusetts, he now resides in Oakland.
