Entrepreneur of the Year
May 30, 2006—Olivia today announced Judy Dlugacz and Amy Errett as finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2006 Award in the Northern California Region.
According to Ernst & Young, the awards program was designed to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses. Judy Dlugacz and Amy Errett were selected as finalists from more than 60 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special 20th anniversary gala event on June 16th at The Fairmont in San Francisco.

5th Annual Workplace Survey Finds
LGBT Employees More Accepted
SAN FRANCISCO, May 22 (UPI) — A Harris survey finds that 61 percent of U.S. adults think that companies should be free to offer partnership benefits to gay and lesbian employees.
The fifth annual Out and Equal Survey also found that 72 percent of those questioned favor company non-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation, up from 63 percent in 2002.

Corporate America backs gay rights
This spring, shareholders at such big companies as ExxonMobil [43] (Research [44]), Ford [45] (Research [46]) and American Express [47] (Research [48]) are voting on whether gay and lesbian people deserve protection against discrimination in the workplace.
But even as battles over gay rights flare up in the corporate world, there's no doubt about who's winning the war.

GLAD wins Case in New Hampshire
Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) today applauded a decision by the New Hampshire Merrimack Superior Court that the New Hampshire Community Technical College System is committing sexual orientation discrimination when it denies benefits to the partners of gay or lesbian employees. The decision can be seen as a mandate for the state to provide benefits to the partners of all state employees.

Wendy's International: New EEO Policy
The Equality Project, a consumer, employee and investor coalition, announced today that Wendy’s International, Dublin, OH, has agreed to amend its employment nondiscrimination policy by adding new written protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity for all employees.
