During her address at the 2010 Workplace Summit in October, Feldblum shared both victories and hurdles toward realizing workplace equality and truly moved the audience with her story.
Feldblum is a lawyer and scholar on LGBT rights, disability rights, and welfare issues at Georgetown Law School. Since 1988 she has been actively involved in federal civil rights and social welfare legislative issues, including shaping legislative and regulatory initiatives on gay rights, AIDS, disability, and health care; serving as the lead drafter of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and most recently, helping to develop employment policy changes to advance workplace flexibility.
Out & Equal's Founding Executive Director, Selisse Berry added, "Chai Feldblum's history of consistently advocating for human rights speaks to her nature as an individual and professional. She will excel in her role as EEOC Commissioner and it is gratifying to see Feldblum, as a member of the LGBT community, confirmed to such an important position."
