Out & Equal Southern California was organized in June 2007 by a dedicated group of individuals to serve the needs of the LGBT workforce in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara & Ventura Counties.
To be the ‘Go To' resource in Southern California for Employment & Workplace Equality Best Practice serving ERG members, ERG Leaders, Diversity & HR Professionals, Government and Corporate leaders to ensure equal policies, opportunities, practices, and benefits in the workplace regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, or characteristics.
• Best Practice Sharing among Southern California ERG's
Strengthen/expand number of companies participating in the Southern California ERG Leader Forum. Provide specific programs to share best practice in the areas of ERG member engagement, ERG contribution to company objectives, Ally and Executive Sponsor Engagement, Self-Identification, Corporate Leadership & Community Outreach.
• Improved Fundraising
Leverage individual contributions, employer matching programs and targeted fund raising events to generate specific Southern California resources to meet funding needs for the programs and activities of the Regional affiliate.
• College/Career Mentorship
Establish specific relationships and programs with the LA Unified School District, the LA Gay & Lesbian Center and local University, Student and Alumni groups to foster career awareness and strengthen career skills for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender career seekers.
