| Summit 2009: Continue the commitment to equality!

Attendees of the 2009 Out & Equal Workplace Summit listen to John Berry, the highest-ranking LGBT official in President Barack Obama's administration, answer questions asked by John Quinones, of ABC "Primetime." For most, the 2009 Out & Equal Workplace Summit was one of the most inspiring and empowering experiences of their lives, with many vowing to take what they learned back into their workplaces to continue the momentum of change and equality.
We have compiled a Summit trip report as both a Power Point and PDF - complete with data and metrics - for you to share your experiences with your colleagues as well as your executive team, helping further move equality forward.
Over the next few weeks, we will compile Summit photos and videos, including videos from the 10 featured panels offered throughout the Summit, and make them available to you through our website as well as the Summit Facebook fan page .
We urge you to use these tools to continue your work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workplace equality. As John Berry, the highest-ranking LGBT official in President Barack Obama's administration, said during the Closing Plenary:
"We are so close. We need to rekindle the fire and the passionate intensity of Stonewall. We need the persistence that animated President Lincoln in his struggle to keep our nation whole and General Grant as he pounded on the enemy's lines relentlessly until the day was won.
And as we fight, keep in mind that our struggle benefits not only ourselves, but all Americans. Each time we act to lift up an oppressed minority, each time we act against discrimination, we add a new ring of life to the American tree of liberty." |
