Julian Shendelman | Executive Assistant

Julian Shendelman joined Out & Equal in April of 2016 and is thrilled by the opportunity to build his skills as an Executive Assistant. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 2014 with an MA in Women and Gender Studies and in 2011 from Mills College with a BA in Queer Studies. Prior to Out & Equal, he served as a Lead Visitor Experience Associate at the Oakland Museum of California and was the owner of Cookie Party, a gluten-free and vegan pop-up bakery. He’s currently an organizer for the Bay Area Trans Writer’s Workshop, a recent recipient of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence grant award and a collective of trans writers working collaboratively to develop and refine their literary skills. He was also a 2012 Lambda Literary Fellow in Non-Fiction and a 2016 Pushcart Prize nominee. Outside of work and arts organizing, Julian appeases his bratty Chihuahua mix, Charles, and aggressively feeds his friends and boyfriend as often as they’ll let him.
