Annual Leadership Celebration to Honor Heroes of the LGBT Equality Movement
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - JANUARY 24, 2013: Out & Equal Workplace Advocates announces Momentum!, its annual leadership celebration to honor heroes of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality movement. Momentum! will be held in San Francisco, California at the Four Seasons Hotel on April 25, 2013. The event is preceded by the 6th Annual Executive Forum—an educational and networking forum - taking place April 23-25 where high-ranking LGBT executives share their experiences and best practices to advance workplace equality.
“We are excited to come together and honor the achievements of those who have made LGBT workplace equality a reality for millions of Americans,” noted Founding Executive Director Selisse Berry. “These heroic efforts have catalyzed the LGBT equality movement, by empowering countless individuals to bring their whole selves to the workplace.”
Formerly known as the “Annual Leadership Celebration,” the event receives a makeover this year and a new name.
“We chose the name Momentum to reflect what we all know and feel,” says Out & Equal’s Chief Marketing Officer, Teddy Witherington: “After years of two steps forward, one step back, there is a renewed sense of optimism for workplace equality. Thanks to the efforts of those who have been working tirelessly for progress, the momentum is with us. With our continued drive, it’s irreversible and that’s worth celebrating!”
The event takes place at the Four Seasons in San Francisco, a venue of unparalleled luxury and comfort. Momentum! will commence with a cocktail reception on the resplendent terrace overlooking Yerba Buena Gardens at 6:30pm and, as the doors to the magnificent ballroom open, will continue with a sumptuous three-course dinner. The program features both poignant and humorous keynote remarks from leaders in the workplace equality movement, stunning entertainment, inspirational awards and a select auction of must-have items. Individual tickets are $175 and special packages for tables and corporate partnership opportunities are available through Out & Equal on its website, www.OutandEqual.org.
“We have partnered with Leftwich Event Specialists, known for working with clients like the Special Olympics, to craft a really memorable experience,” added Witherington.
