About Out & Equal
Founded in 1998 by Executive Director Selisse Berry,
Out & Equal Workplace Advocates is the leading champion
for fully-inclusive workplace equality that convenes,
influences and inspires global employers and their lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and allied employees.
We believe that workplace changes brought about by the passion, wisdom, and energy of like-
minded individuals and organizations are a catalyst for broader cultural changes. It is our vision
that all LGBT people should be free to be open, authentic, and productive at work.
Our Services

programs and services designed to educate
and empower LGBT individuals in the
workplace, including:
Convening our Community
Out & Equal Workplace Summit
Each year, the Out & Equal Workplace Summit
educates and inspires thousands of lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender people and our
allies to create inclusive work environments.
The 2013 Workplace Summit will be held in
Minneapolis, Minnesota from
October 28–October 31.
The Outie Awards
The Out & Equal Workplace Awards (popularly
referred to as “The Outies”) honor individuals
and organizations leading the way in
advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender employees. Through these
awards, Out & Equal provides the business and
LGBT communities with examples of innovative
approaches and proven successes to help
create safe and inclusive workplaces.
Out & Equal Executive Forum
The Executive Forum is a two-day conference
where senior executive leaders and emerging
executives come together to develop their
professional network, share best practices, and
explore how to use their influence to advance
LGBT workplace equality most effectively.
The next Executive Forum will be held
April 22-24, 2013 in San Francisco.
Out & Equal Leadership Celebration
The Out & Equal Leadership Celebration
recognizes organizations and individuals who
have taken the lead on fundamental issues of
equal rights, both in and out of the workplace.
The next Leadership Celebration will be held in
San Francisco in March 2013.
Global LGBT Programs
Out & Equal produced its first Global LGBT
Workplace Summit in London, July 5-6, 2012.
The Global Summit convened over 350
attendees to discuss the challenges that
multinational employers face in creating LGBT
inclusive workplaces around the globe. Plans are
underway with our partners and constituents for
future programs like the Global Summit that will
advance LGBT equality in workplaces globally.
