Domestic Partner Benefits Tax Equalization: Getting it Done!
Every year, more companies are announcing their intention to implement tax equalization for domestic partners who bear a higher tax burden compared to married couples as a result of different tax treatment under U. S. law.  Companies who implement tax equalization can help make health care more affordable for same-gender domestic partners, and create more parity with opposite-gender partners.  In addition, tax equalization signals a company’s strong commitment to LGBT equality in the workplace and to diversity and inclusion overall.

This session will help participants better understand the issue and will offer ideas for building the business case and implementing solutions.  Discussion points will include recommendations on how to engage management, overcome barriers and commonly raised concerns, and implement through a variety of alternative processes.  We look forward to a spirited and interactive discussion!

Panelists include: Kathryn Komsa (Chief Diversity Officer, MMC, moderator),   Jim Dwyer (American Express),  Bradley Deckert (PwC), Maribel Ledezma (Goldman Sachs), Tara Bettendorf (MMC), James Campbell (MMC)
