Out & Equal Workplace Advocates celebrated its third-annual Leadership Celebration on April 21, 2010, honoring role models and heroes in the movement to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equal rights in the workplace and beyond.
At the event, held at the Le Parker Meridien in New York City, Out & Equal presented the 2010 Advocacy Award to Julian Bond,
a champion for civil rights and a vocal ally and advocate for the LGBT
community. The Out & Equal Advocacy Award is presented annually to
corporations and
individuals whose courage in supporting LGBT equal rights is
unsurpassed.
Out & Equal also acknowledged recipients of its Workplace Excellence and Champion awards presented over the last decade as part of the prestigious Out & Equal Workplace Awards, "the Outies."
Internationally acclaimed humorist Kate Clinton served as emcee and entertainment.
Vocalists from New York City's Stonewall Chorale also performed.
